RMStudents is hosting the schedule/calendar for Class of 2011's Winter 2008 quarter. There was a similar calendar up for the Fall quarter. If any of you use Gmail or Outlook or iCal, this is a very easy and very helpful way to keep track of your classes.
Do not just click on the link, unless you plan on using Microsoft Outlook. If you want to use this with Google Calendar, follow the instructions below. If someone can e-mail me the instructions for iCal (all typed up) I can paste that into here for Mac users. Thanks. Read More »
Happy New Year everyone. I just wanted to let everyone know that the CEO schedule for the Spring quarter will be posted and emailed shortly. Enjoy the rest of your break!
If you missed it in one of the last Rush newsletters (does anyone actually read those emails?), Rush students now have access to employee discounts at Perkspot. Here's how to access the site:
1.) If you have not yet registered through the PerkSpot Web site, visit www.perkspot.com/register.aspx or click on the link provided on the Rush intranet site located at http://iris.rush.edu/benefits/index.html.
2.)To create an account, use your school e-mail address OR use your personal e-mail address and then enter "rush" as the company code.
3.) Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email with login instructions.
Pretty simple, and it should help out with your holiday shopping. Enjoy!

Very interesting Atul Gawande article in this week's New Yorker about the potential benefits of using simple checklists to treat patiets in the ICU (link).
Some excerpts:
"The researchers found that simply having the doctors and nurses in the
I.C.U. make their own checklists for what they thought should be done
each day improved the consistency of care to the point that, within a
few weeks, the average length of patient stay in intensive care dropped
by half."

By looking at the logs over the past few weeks, I have noticed quite a few users are having trouble remembering what their password is. After attempting to log in a few times, they use the "Request new password" feature to reset their password. No big deal, except maybe some frustration for you. If you'd like to avoid that, keep reading. Read More »
