Posting a Contribution

Suppose you've made up this great list of all the bold terms in the histology syllabus and you want to share it with everyone. Well it's pretty easy to do on this website, so I'll walk you through all the steps.

  1. Log in (or register)
  2. Create a story (On the left: Create Content -> Story)
  3. Give your post a title (like Histo bold terms)
  4. Change the Post Type to "Contribution"
  5. Set your Topic (probably -Histology in this case)
  6. Give your post a brief description (what do you want people to know about this).  Make sure to give credit if others helped you.
  7. Choose your "Audience".  This is who the post is geared towards.  Note that it will only show you groups that you're a member of, so if you haven't joined your class group yet, you should do that first (and start over).  In this case, it would be "Class of 2011".  Also, choose whether or not your post appears to the Public.  If you uncheck the "Public" box, only users who have joined the "Class of 2011" group will be able to see your post.  To anyone outside of the group, they will never even know you have written it (it's hidden from them).  If you leave the "Public" box checked, any user who is logged in to RMstudents will be able to see it.  If unsure, it's probably best to leave "Public" checked.
  8. Attach your file(s) by clicking "File attachments" near the bottom of the page. Click "Browse..." and find the file on your computer. Then click "Attach". Repeat for multiple attachments.
  9. Click "Preview" to see how your post will look to everyone. If you want to make changes, make them and click "Preview" again. If you like it, click "Submit".
