Structure of rotation

One-on-one with attendings/residents

Amt/quality of time residents/attendings

I spent nearly the whole clinic day with either Lifetime Medical Assoc. attendings or residence.  It was definitely quality time in every aspect.  Learned a ton, got to know and familiar with the program and enjoyed it!

The teaching was poor and at times was intimidating. I would only recommend doing this elective if you want to do med/peds at RUSH. The office at Lifetimes is a mess and the attendings are constantly complaining.

Most of your time is spent with attendings.  Quality of teaching is excellent

Never, A few times/week, once a week

Typical day

Show up around 8-9 am, had an hour lunch break and stayed until about 5pm.  Once there it was all on my own initiative to see patients and do procedures.  It was all out-patient office visits.

Get there at 8, leave at 6pm. if there were no patients they just expected you to sit there and stare at the wall. it was awful

8 or 9 to 430-5 seeing patients in clinic.  Time also set aside for you to work on your projects.
