"Secret" Elevator
The main set of Academic Facility elevators is often packed, particularly at the beginning of the noon hour. If you refuse to use the stairs, you can take an elevator unbeknownst to most folks.
· 1st floor: Opens outside to Harrison Street, right underneath the El tracks and around the corner by the Rush bookstore. (Because it's covered by the El tracks, it's a dark area and a little creepy; I'm not sure if it works at night, for safety reasons, since any Joe Shmoe Axe-Murderer could enter from the outside.)
· 2nd floor: Opens by the cafeteria, opposite the main set of elevators.
· 4th floor: Hidden behind a set of double doors in a back hallway (on the school side) just adjacent to the area that connects the Professional Building, the hospital, and the school. You will also see the escalators down to the cafeteria.
· 5th floor: Hidden behind a set of double doors which is on the other side of the bathrooms that are next to the Admissions Office. From the bathrooms, take two left turns, and you will be in the hallway of lockers by the anatomy lab. The double doors are immediately on the left.
· 7th floor: Hidden behind a set of double doors at the north end of the hallway of lockers that are behind the lounge and vending area. (North end is towards the main elevators.)
· 9th floor: Hidden behind a set of double doors that can be reached by walking to the end of the first hallway by the main elevators, and turning right.
"Secret" Staircase
In the library, find the book titled "Spot Sees the Doctor." Pull on it, and an ogre in scrubs will appear and…OK, OK, it doesn't quite work that way. On the 1st floor by the bookstore, there is a dark hallway. Enter it, and on the right will be a wooden door behind which lies the staircase. (The glass door on the left leads to Heaven or Hell, can't remember which.) The staircase leads to the same locations as those for the elevator. Note: On the stairwell side, the door for the 4th floor is unmarked.
