Jonathan, you wanted an update. Here it is. Just saw some good news at Gizmodo. Let's pretend that this binary star does explode in a manner that releases gamma rays at Earth .. given that it's 8000 light years away, it means we still have plenty of time to find a means of getting out of this place. Oh and wait, it won't be our problem anyway.
There's so much to talk about (to myself I guess), like Intel's branding of Silverthorne and Menlow as Atom and Atom Centrino respectively, and my experiences so far with the quad core I put in. Yes, that's right, I bought a quad core, for $200! (Microcenter ftw). Well all in due time.. and due time = when finals are over and I've caught up with life.
update:
I did want to link to this, as the CeBIT 2008 convention has begun and Anandtech had some shots of Atom-riddled devices.
update 2:
Anandtech provides more detail on Intel Atom, very interesting because you get a better idea of where Intel's headed with this platform. In a nutshell, they want to take over the world. :-P

thanks
I saw that on Gizmodo too. Thanks for posting something new. Just don't let it interfere with your real work. :) All the Intel stuff looks interesting. I'm still hoping for an AMD comeback...
